On Friday, October 7, 2022, as she was surrounded by loved ones, Faye Eileen Hensley, at the age of 87, went home to be with the Lord.
Born on March 18, 1935, Faye was a native of McDowell County. She was a daughter of the late Jessie Paris and Ella Padgett Moore. She's also preceded in death by husband, Howard Hoiet Hensley; son, Leonard Keith Hensley; sisters: Ellen Pritchard, Willie Tesner, Grace Moore and Alice Moore; brothers: Ed, Rance, Troy and Carol Moore. Faye was a lifelong resident of Burnsville where she was a homemaker and worked hand in hand next to her husband. Faye was a God fearing woman and never knew a stranger. She always had a smile to share and a laugh that was contagious. She dearly loved all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving is her son, John Hensley and wife, Donna, of Burnsville; sisters: Regina and Hazel; God given son and daughter, Lori and Michael Osada; grandchildren: Samantha, Rachel, Keith and wife, Haley, Eric, Sienna, Steven and wife, Felicia; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews along with her four loved fur babies.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 2:45 p.m., Wednesday, October 12th at Yancey Funeral Services with her service beginning at 2:45 p.m. Rev. C. J. Robinson will officiate with a burial following in the Hoiet Hensley Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: John Hensley, Keith Hensley, Eric Hensley, Ronnie Hullett, Steven Davis and Michael Osada.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the wonderfully caring people of Compassionate Care WNC in Burnsville. They treated Faye like family and provided excellent care.
