Faye Hoff, age 87, passed away on January 17 at the TCHCC Nursing home in Whitehall, WI.
Faye was born on September 6, 1936, in Spooner, WI, to Geneva and Arthur Magnusson. She graduated from Shell Lake High School in 1954. She moved to Milwaukee to find work and is where she met James Chatham. They were married for 17 years and had six children. She moved to Whitehall with the children, and there she met Fred Hoff. They were married for 16 years.
Faye went to school to become an LPN. She was a very giving person, who truly loved being a nurse and caring for others. She worked at the Arcadia Hospital until she moved back to Spooner. She retired after several years of employment with the Spooner Nursing Home.
Faye enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, gardening and entertaining. She was always up to the challenge of a new game, or just sitting on the porch in the fresh air enjoying the peacefulness of the country.
Faye is survived by her six children: Chris (Mary) Chatham, Barb Chatham, Susan Mach, Kim Chatham, Marilyn (Joe) Brady, and April (Seymore) Anderson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Lynn Magnusson; sister-in-law Fern Magnusson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, husband Fred, son-in-law, and granddaughter-in-law.
Services will be held at the Spooner Funeral Home on Saturday, February 10, with visitation at noon and service at 1 p.m.
