Joanne was born on February 12th, 1938, to Harold and Helen (Harbaugh) Hansel in Iowa City, IA. Our mother loved nature and was known for talking to the wild birds on the farm. She also loved the toads around the farm and would gently give them scratches on their backs. She loved animals, especially her horse Rusty. Most of all she loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the love of her life Bert.
