Faye Hunt (Stephens) passed away peacefully at her home in Reynolds North Dakota, December 24, 2025. Faye was born on February 26, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Ted E. Stephens and Alta LaVee (Kenner) Stephens.

Faye met David Lawrence Hunt in Denver Colorado where she was living and working, and he was temporarily assigned there for schooling for the United States Air Force. The two were married October 22, 1965, in Denver, Colorado where they began their 60-year marriage full of love and devotion for one another. She had a very deep faith in the Lord and her family, though we tested that faith often (some of us more than others).

Faye was a loving wife and mother as they built their lives and family, fully supporting David in his military career. They moved frequently, primarily throughout the southwestern United States until David’s retirement in 1981 when they settled in Clinton, Missouri. Faye made an impact on her community by driving school bus and teaching early morning seminary classes for their church. Her commitment to education, and her love for the children she served exemplified her generous spirit. When she wasn’t driving bus or preparing lesson plans, Faye poured her heart into serving others, always looking for ways to lend a helping hand.

In 1994 Faye and her family that were still at home, moved to Salt Lake City, Utah to care for her elderly and ailing parents. In the fall of 2008, Dave and Faye moved to a farmstead in rural Buxton, Noth Dakota.

Throughout her life, Faye found great joy in many hobbies and was well known for her skills in cake decorating, and intricate sewing projects. She took great pride in providing families all over the country with a one-of-a-kind personalized cross-stitched keepsake announcing the birth of a new baby. She also made the best potato salad around.

Faye will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. We find comfort in the cherished memories and profound impact she made in our lives.

Faye is survived by her husband: David L. Hunt, Reynolds, ND; five children: Debra (Daniel) Mills, West Valley City, UT, Stephen (Shannon) Hunt, Reynolds, ND, Benjamin (Kelly) Hunt, Grantsville, UT, Charles (Melanie) Hunt, Buxton, ND, Daniel (Slade) Hunt, Taylorsville, UT; sister: Claudia (David) Mecham; sister-in-law: Elizabeth (Ernie) Elkins; fourteen grandchildren: Amanda (Andrew) Velasco, Cory (Chyanne) Mills, Cassidy (Christian) Haroldsen, Garrett Mills, Nicole (Trevor) Levenseller, Kaylee (Forrest) Derosier, Wilson Hunt, Jordan Hunt, Sarah Hunt, Tanner (Summer) Hunt, Tristen Hunt, Teagan Hunt, Jayden Hunt, Morgan Hunt; five great grandchildren: Maci Levenseller, Colt Levenseller, Henry Derosier, Violet Haroldsen, Graham Haroldsen.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents; son: William David Hunt; siblings: Blair Stephens, Lynda Andersen, Beverly Ford, Ted Stephens; in-laws: Charles and Elizabeth Hunt; brother-in-law: Charles F. Hunt.

There will be a visitation for anyone who wishes to come at 6:00 PM December 30, 2025, at the Baker Funeral Home in Mayville. Internment will take place at Noon on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the National Veterans Cemetery near Fargo, ND
