Federico Lazaro Dumpit of
Vallejo, California, lovingly known as Pedring or Fred to some, entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the age of 79. In those quiet moments at home, he was held in love by his daughter, Jane, his son-in-law Gary, and his grandson Grayson. His passing was not only the end of a life, but the closing of a chapter filled with wisdom, warmth, and the kind of presence that leaves an imprint long after the moment has gone. Surrounded by those who cherished him most, Federico's departure reminds us that the measure of a life is found in the love we give and the bonds we nurture.
Born on August 14, 1946, in San Antonio, Zambales, Philippines, Federico was the youngest of four children of the late Juan and Lolita (Lazaro) Dumpit. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of the East in Manila before immigrating to the United States in 1992. With dedication and humility, he worked as a mail room shift lead at the Times Herald and later retired after more than two decades of service as a recycling supervisor at Tomra Pacific.
Federico's life was defined by generosity, wisdom, and gentle spirit. He lived simply, yet gave abundantly, always placing the needs of others before his own. He found joy in fishing, spending peaceful days by the lake, and in playing cards and friendly betting games, where he delighted in sharing his good fortune with family and friends. His greatest happiness came from helping others-often giving everything he had, even his last penny, to ease someone else's burden. He asked for so little but gave so very much.
Federico's journey was preceded by the passing of many dear ones: his beloved wife Carmelita, her parents Juan and Lolita, her sister Clarita. Each of them shaped his life in unique ways, and their absence was felt deeply. Yet in remembering those who went before him, we see the threads of love, resilience, and connection that wove through Federico's story.
He is survived by his children, Edwin (Sonia), and Jane (Gary) of California; his brothers Dominador and wife Eden of the Philippines, and Aurelio of California; his beloved grandchildren Dianne Jane (Joven), Eisza Joie (Chris), and Grayson James of California; great grandchild Eli James as well as many nephews, nieces, and extended family members in both the United States and the Philippines. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Services were held to honor Federico's life with a visitation on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Twins Chapel Mortuary in Vallejo and A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 1200 Tuolumne St,
