Felicita Lugo

Felicita Lugo, nee Rivera, born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, entered into rest on November 2, 2025, at the age of 92 years old. Daughter of the late Ventura and Rosa Rivera, she was born on February 11, 1933, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and came to the United States as a teenager. She lived most of her life in Union City, New Jersey.
"Phyllis", as she was affectionally known by her friends and coworkers, was a retired Custodian for John F. Kennedy School in North Bergen, NJ. Phyllis was well loved by her students and teachers. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony's RC church in Union City, NJ. She loved sewing and cooking, especially making pasteles. Phyllis loved old classic Spanish movies with Cantinflas and Vicente Fernandez and loved bolero and merengue music.
She is predeceased by her husband Jose Ramon Lugo, survived by her children, Rose Elaine Vazquez, Angel Vincent Vazquez, Felicita Lugo, Carmen Delia Lugo, Jose Ramon Lugo Jr., the late Edwin Vazquez, her six grandchildren, Rose Elaine Connor, Daniel Vazquez, Angel David Vazquez, Shawn Lugo, Michael Lugo, and Cristian Lugo, and four great granddaughters, Charlotte Jane Connor, Isla Rose Connor, Madison Vazquez, and Emmelyn Vazquez.
