Felipa Tienda Obituary

In loving memory of our mother, Felipa Tienda Peña, born May 1, 1946, in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. She passed away on October 21, 2025, to be reunited with our father, her beloved husband, Braulio Tienda De Los Reyes, who passed away on February 22, 2022.
Our mother was an extraordinary and resilient human being. As the eldest of twelve siblings, at a young age she assumed the responsibility of helping her mother care for the family. She was a strong woman who, in just the first few decades of her life, overcame many challenges with great courage, integrity, and dignity. We consider her a pioneer; at thirty, she was the first in her family to dare to do things differently. A single mother of three, she made the decision to risk it all by moving to the other side of the world to forge a new and better way of life for herself and her children.
In December 1976, she and our father married in Reno, Nevada, and soon after settled down in the Mission District of San Francisco, California.
Our mother loved living in the Mission neighborhood. A homebody by choice, she took great pride in keeping her house clean and her clothes impeccably laundered. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, cultivating and admiring the vibrant splendor of her beautiful rose bushes and flowers. But, above all, our mother found the deepest joy in sitting in her room contemplating the wall-to-wall gallery of framed photographs of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. This gallery was her pride, a showcase of the great legacy she and our father leave behind.
Our mother will remain in our hearts as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her six children, twelve grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren listed below respectively.
Mother, may the Virgin of Guadalupe and God have you in their holy glory. Rest in peace, dear mother. We love you very much and until we meet again.
