Felipe Deanda Rivas

Felipe Deanda Rivas III, 56 was born on April 27, 1968, in Pecos, TX to Felipe Jr. & Corina Rivas. He was accepted in Heaven on Sunday, February 16, 2025. In his younger years, Felipe “Power” was known as a tremendous boxer where he competed in many Golden Glove bouts, he was a state qualifier and a 3X Golden Glove Champion. He married Laura Kay on June 24, 1987, spending 37 wonderful years together creating a lifetime of memories. They raised 3 boys together, Chris, Felipe “Flip”, and Timothy “Bucky”. His sons were his pride and joy. Then came along his grandchildren, Niko, Leah, Easton “Weasel”, Harley and Rocky “Rocko”. He loved his grandchildren more than life; he would attend every game and function they had. He was a lifelong painter, handyman and was a jack of all trades. He was the life of the party; you could always count on seeing him and Laura at all family events. Felipe was a devoted Catholic and always was strong in his faith although we will miss him dearly and there will forever be a whole in our hearts, we take comfort knowing we will see him again one day and as Felipe would always say “Si Dios Quiere”.

 Felipe is survived by his wife Laura Kay, Sons: Christopher Vasquez, Felipe Rivas IV and Timothy Rivas. Grandchildren: Niko Vasquez, Leah Ruiz, Easton Rivas, Harley Rivas, and Rocky Rivas. Goddaughter, Alexandria Sosa. Siblings: Sylvia Rivas, Nora Ramirez, Norma Carrasco & Husband Larry Carrasco, Daniel Rivas. Along with numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. 

He is proceeded in death by his parents Felipe Jr. & Corina Rivas. Grandparents: Toribio & Maria Dolores “Loly” Deanda, Felipe & Anita Rivas. Along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Pall Bearers: Osvaldo Rivas Huertas, Ezekiel Ramirez, Demetrius Rivas, Jr. Pena, Jr. Deanda, D.J. Rivas, Oscar Velasquez and Hunter Sosa. 

Viewing will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025 with Rosary Services at 7:00PM. 

Catholic Services will be held at 1pm at Good Shephard Catholic Church in Crane, TX on Friday, February 21,2025. Felipe will be laid to rest at Restland in Iraan TX immediately following Church services.
