Felix Rios Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dierna Funeral Home - Rochester on Jan. 29, 2026.
The Rios family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Felix "Papo" Rios, who ended his courageous battle with cancer on November 19th, 2025, at the age of 77. Though his journey on this earth has ended, the impact he left on the hearts and lives of those who knew him will echo for generations.

Born with hands blessed by God and a spirit fueled by purpose, Papo was a self-made carpenter whose talents knew no limits. If it could be built, fixed, wired, or imagined-Papo could bring it to life. From woodwork to plumbing, from electricity to entire homes, he was a craftsman in every sense of the word. His work wasn't just a skill; it was a love language, a way he cared for people without needing many words.

And yet, as impressive as his hands were, his feet were just as legendary. The moment a salsa beat hit the room, Papo came alive. His hips would sway, his feet would glide, and suddenly the dance floor belonged to him. Whether at a family party or a simple gathering, he danced with joy, with fire, and with a rhythm all his own. Dancing wasn't just a hobby-it was a glimpse into the joyful, vibrant soul he carried.

Papo's heart was as big as his talent. A man of honor, kindness, and quiet strength, he opened his doors-and his kitchen-to everyone. No one left his home hungry. No one left without feeling cared for. Helping was simply who he was. He gave, he served, he built, he loved.

He is predeceased by His partner – Rosalina Perez ,Daughter Yazmin Delvalle, son Emmanuel Delvalle. He is survived by his five children-Janet Rios, Felix Rios Jr., Nilsa DelValle, Eduardo Rios, and Alisia Rios-as well as his beloved grandchildren, who will forever carry pieces of his laughter, his lessons, and his legacy.

Papo leaves behind more than memories. He leaves behind the warmth of his generosity, the rhythm of his dancing soul, and the unshakeable foundation of love he built for his family.

Goodbye, Papo.
Thank you for the homes you built, the meals you shared, the hands you lent, and the joy you brought to every floor you danced on. Your work lives on in the walls you shaped, and your spirit lives on in every beat of music that moves us. We will miss you deeply, love you always, and carry you forever in our hearts.

May you rest in peace, and may Heaven welcome you with music-so you can dance once more.

Calling hours will be Sunday November 23rd, from 12pm-4pm at Dierna Funeral Home.
