We come together to celebrate the remarkable life of Fenno Schade, a cherished member of our community, loving family man, and friend to many. On November 22, 2025, after more than a century of life filled with service, laughter, and countless adventures, Fenno completed his earthly journey and returned to his Heavenly Father.
Born on January 14th, 1923, in Huntsville, Utah, Fenno grew up in a different time. A time where hard work, faith, and family weren't just values, they were survival tools. From those early years, he learned grit, humility, and how to treat people with respect. These weren't lessons he kept to himself, he lived them openly.
Fenno graduated high school in 1942, and soon after met the love of his life. In June of 1945, he married his sweetheart Marian in the Salt Lake Temple. Only eight months later, he was called to serve a mission in the Northern States Mission, where he faithfully oversaw six states. He cherished the people he met and deeply loved serving the Lord. When he returned home, he carried with him the lessons, experiences, and enduring friendships he had gained during those two years. His life continued to be richly blessed as he and his wife welcomed two children into their loving home.
In February 1949, he began a rewarding career with Cream 'O Weber as a salesman. He took joy in delivering milk and dairy products, brightening the days of those on his route with his friendly demeanor and warm smile. Fenno retired after 36 years of dedicated service, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and the countless smiles he brought to the faces of those he served.
He was happiest outdoors, where the world felt wide and peaceful. He loved fishing, hunting, and ATV rides, and he had a knack for turning even the simplest outing into a memory worth retelling. Card games were a treasured tradition in his home. Those lucky enough to sit across the table from him will forever remember the countless stories he shared between shuffles and the glint in his eye and smirk on his face when he was about to play a winning hand.
Now we honor the story of Fenno Schade, one of unwavering kindness, enduring strength, and the joy he found in every day. As we bid him farewell, we reflect on a life well-lived and the everlasting mark he left on all of our hearts. He always left us with a grin and his trademark farewell: "See you in the funny papers - the colored section." Today, with full hearts, we say it back to him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marian Schade, his daughter, Jolene Romo, and his son, Paul Schade. His legacy will live on through the lives of his grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and all the lives of those he touched.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 770 15th St, Ogden, Utah, at 11:00 AM, with a viewing held an hour prior. Friends and loved ones are invited to attend and honor a man whose influence will ripple through generations.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to his caregivers and volunteers for the kindness and compassion shown during Fenno's final days.
