Fenton L. Bryant Jr., 90, of Colonial Heights, Va. passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025. He was born in Southampton County on October 6, 1934. Bryant was the son of the late Fenton L. Bryant Sr and Eunice Bryant of Sedley Va. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Bryant, and granddaughter Melissa Johnson. He is survived by his daughter, Frieda Stone and significant other Alvin Yoder, from Waynesboro, Va. and a son Fenton Lee Bryant III and wife Earlene from Kill Devil Hills, NC. Two grandchildren, Robby Johnson and significant other Kait Dodd, and Jessica Landis and husband Elwood Landis and 3 great grandchildren, Ethan, Leland, and Ryan Landis. Also, one sister Rachel Jones of Texas, and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Bryant, as he was known, never met a stranger and loved to strike up a conversation with anyone who had time to listen. He retired from the Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company in 1985. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, South Prince George, Virginia 23805. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA.
