Died: November 29, 2023 in Memphis, TN
Fern Caroline (Scriba) Cioni Hallett, 97, of Memphis, TN, formerly of LaSalle, IL passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru, IL with Rev. Diana Kurtz, of First Congregational Church, LaSalle, officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Visitation will be 9:30-11:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hallett was born December 27, 1925 in Mendota, IL to Leo and Lucy (Finley) Scriba. She married Peter Joseph Cioni on August 28, 1950. She married James Albert Hallett on July 17, 1965.
Mrs. Hallett was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School. She was a member at First Congregational Church in LaSalle and attended church at St. Timothy Methodist Church in Memphis. Mrs. Hallett volunteered for Ronald McDonald House for over 20 years and had a service award named for her. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Pilot International club and enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include three sons, Peter (Becky) Cioni of Richardson, TX, Eugene (Sherry) Cioni of Davenport, IA and Dennis (Denise) Cioni of Ponte Vedra, FL; twin daughters, Caroline (Matthew) Hallett Levy of Memphis, TN and Jill (Alen) Hallett Burch of Millington, TN; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; three brothers, Ralph, Wayne, and Nelson Scriba and one sister, Ruth (Scriba) Witz.
Memorial donations may be directed to Ronald McDonald House in Memphis, TN.
