Fernando Cruz

Fernando Cruz, a man who truly loved life and those in it, passed away unexpectedly on November 17, 2025, at the age of 42. A lifelong Texan, he was born in Richmond on August 16, 1983, and lived in Houston.

For 23 years, Fernando was the Lead Maintenance Technician-a job he tackled with dedication and skill, ensuring everything ran smoothly for his community and colleagues. If it was broken, Fernando could fix it.

When he wasn't working, Fernando lived for adventure and family. He was a thrill-seeker who loved tearing up the trails on his dirt bikes and four-wheelers, and he found peace casting a line while fishing. He also enjoyed a good day at the shooting range. But his favorite title was "Dad" and "Grandpa." Nothing brought him more joy than spending time, and probably causing a little trouble, with his kids and his sweet granddaughter.

Fernando was the guy who was always willing to lend a hand-a true friend who showed up when you needed him, usually with a joke and a smile. His humor, generosity, and strong, loyal presence made him a trusted role model and beloved figure to everyone he met.

Fernando's memory will be carried on by his loved ones. He is survived by his children: his son Fernando Jaime Cruz (and his wife Valerie Trevino) and his daughter Jacelyn Mia Cruz; his granddaughter, Valentina Cruz; and his parents, Francisco Cruz and Graciela Zepeda Cruz. He also leaves behind his partner, Kristina Trimmer, and her cherished children: Samantha Barnett, Jade Guevara, Kaytlin Trimmer, and Jacob Barnett.

He will be deeply missed, but the stories of his adventures, laughter, and kindness will inspire us all to live a little more fully.
