Fidencio Lopez Jr.
January 4, 1973 - November 16, 2025
Fidencio Lopez Jr. was born to Fidencio Sr. and Gloria C. Lopez, a retired postal carrier and
homemaker, in Houston, Texas on January 4, 1973. He graduated high school from Langham
Creek High School in 1991. He went on to join the U.S. Navy where he learned about his talent
for working on and fixing technology equipment, and installing software, which lead to his
career in IT Support.
Fidencio was predeceased by his grandparents Eduardo and Adela Lopez, Manuel Sr. and Maria
Contreras, and brother-in-law William D. Knox. He is survived by his parents Fidencio Sr. and
Gloria C. Lopez, sister Claudia Knox, niece Petra-Alanna Lerma and her spouse Dominic Lerma
and their children Olivia and Magnolia, and niece Cameron Reyes.
Fidencio Lopez Jr. had a passion for motorcycles and racing laps around the track. He also
enjoyed the great outdoors by engaging in activities like hiking. He was a man known for his
kindness, gentle spirit, and warm heart. He passed away on November 16, 2025 surrounded by
some heroic members of his community. Those who knew him will remember his sweet and
tender soul-unwavering in the kindness he showed to those he worked with, acquaintances, and
friends.
He had a wonderful sense of humor and a gift for bringing joy and laughter. Whether with a
quick wit, a soft smile, a perfectly timed joke, or acting silly. His presence was light, comforting,
and full of warmth.
Above all, he was deeply loved-by his family, his friends, and all those fortunate enough to
share in his life. His absence leaves an ache that cannot be filled, but his memory will continue to
shine in the hearts of those who cherished him.
He was deeply loved by his parents from the very beginning. His mom always thinking of her
children and putting their needs ahead of her own. She recalls the day her baby boy asserted his
independence at five years old, a week after his first day of Kindergarten. She remembers the day
he put his big boy pants on telling her he did not want her to walk him to school because he was
a big boy. Reluctantly, she let him walk by himself to school, but little did he know she was there
all along, hiding behind the bushes and behind parked cars, making sure that he made it to school
safely. One of his dad's happiest memories of him as a child is their time going to the Monster
Truck Jam. He enjoyed how his son loved every moment of it-the big trucks, the roaring
engines, the bright lights, and the sheer excitement of being there together. Those trips filled him
with joy, and his son's enthusiasm will forever remain a cherished memory.
As a brother he was known as Bubba and deeply loved by his sister, always in her thoughts and
heart, regardless of how many miles were between them. They shared fond memories that will
last a lifetime. As children they enjoyed watching shows like Speed Racer, which inspired the
name of his childhood toy monkey, Chimp-Chimp. They had a mutual love for collecting and
playing with their toy Hot Wheels. As children that grew up in the big city of Houston, Texas
they would line up all their cars in rows pretending they were in a traffic jam. As adults they
relished in the times they had together filling their time together with fun, laughter, good food
and catching up with each other's lives.
He held a special place in the heart of his oldest great-niece, Olivia, who adored him beyond
measure. She loved to FaceTime with Uncle Junior! When he was together with family, the girls,
his nieces Magnolia and Olivia, both wanted his attention and piggy back rides. Their bond was
one of pure affection and fun, those times will remain a treasured part of her life.
He will be profoundly missed, remembered always for the gentleness of his soul, the laughter he
inspired, and the joy he brought to so many.
