Mrs. Filena Fay(e) (Dowless) Carson, 73 of Autryville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Butler Funeral Home in Roseboro with Reverend Dennis Guy and Larry McCarty. The burial will follow at Bladen Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:50 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
Mrs. Carson was a native of Columbus County, the daughter of Leslie James and Vivian Ann Bradshaw Dowless. She was preceded in death by her parents; and six siblings, Shelton Henry Dowless, James Livingston (Levi) Dowless, Dewey Herman Dowless, Peggy Lou (Dowless) Hooks, Leslie James Dowless, Jr., and McCrae Dowless.
Filena was a dedicated wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker, and a dedicated member to Long Branch Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Lloyd Milford (L.M.) Carson, Jr. of the home; three sons, Daniel Lee Carson and wife, Casey of Clayton; Steven Patrick Carson and wife, Sandy of Willow Spring; and Andrew Christopher Carson and wife, Stephanie of Watkins Glen, NY; nine grandchildren, Sydney Johnson (Michael), Summer Carson, Savannah Carson, Reece Carson, Trent Carson, Tate Carson, Jayden Carson, Madison Carson and Brendon Core; her sister, Myrtice Johnson and husband, Tommy; her brother, Harry Dowless and wife, Linda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
