Guest Book
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Finley Gable, who went home to be with the Lord on September 13, 2025, at the age of 84.
Born on March 29, 1941, Finley lived a life defined by service, integrity, and devotion—to his country, his community, and, most importantly, his family.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Finley served his nation with honor and discipline, values that guided him throughout his life. Following his time in the military, he continued his dedication to protecting others through a distinguished career in law enforcement. Known for his fairness, compassion, and calm strength, Finley earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and community alike.
Beyond his years of service, Finley was a proud Mason, living by the principles of brotherhood, charity, and moral integrity. He believed deeply in doing good quietly and leading by example—always striving to make the world a better place through kindness and action.
To his family, Finley was the steady rock and loving heart that held everyone together. He was a devoted husband to Lynn, sharing a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and unwavering devotion. He was a proud and loving father to Joey and Alicia, always offering his wisdom, strength, and unconditional love. His grandchildren adored their “Papa,” whose gentle humor, kind eyes, and endless stories made every moment together special.
Finley will be remembered for his firm handshake, warm smile, and steadfast sense of duty. But above all, he will be remembered for the love he poured into those around him. His legacy of honor, humility, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege to know him.
A celebration of Finley’s life will be held on November 22, 2025, at The Cowan Historic Mill in downtown Acworth, Georgia, where friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a man who made the world a better place simply by being in it.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Paulding County Animal Services or Tunnels to Towers Foundation, in honor of Finley’s lifelong commitment to service and community.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.
