FloEllen Gold Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Van Orsdel Funeral & Cremation Services - Coral Gables on May 2, 2025.
Our incredible Mother, born in Georgia, moved to Florida, and raised five children under the age of thirteen as a young widow. Mother worked three jobs at a younger time in her life to provide for her one son and four daughters. Mom was in the medical manufacturing business of pacemakers and plastics, and was then promoted to the business area in the realm of quality control, which she loved. She enjoyed the position even though it was challenging, as it was an all-male workplace at the time. Mother went to Barry University, located in North Miami, Florida, and became an ordained minister. Mother raised her children with a strong foundation in religion, church, teaching high morals, love and care for all people, and how to have a strong connection with Christ.
Mother always expressed how much pleasure she received after every child was born. During one discussion, she said, "They are such gifts in my life that I have difficulty expressing my feelings." She expressed the joy and pleasure she received with each child born. She loved and treated all of her children equally, one son and four daughters; however, a bond she had with one of her daughters, Hilda, was special. It was a friendship as much as it was a mother-and-daughter relationship. The good and bad times will forever be with them. She went to be with her parents, who preceded her in death, Otis. Terrell (Father) and Annie Mae Gore (Mother). Also preceded by Buford Lee Williams (First Husband and Father of Children), identical twin sons Melvin & Marvin Williams (Born without Life). Leon E. Gold (Second Husband), Larry Gold (Step-Son), Russell Gold (Step-Son), Cheryl Barclifs (Step-Daughter). Thomas B. Fisher (Son-in-Law/Son), Joseph Everett Moniz (Son-In-Law). She was preceded in death by her siblings, Evelyn Watson (Sister), Robert Terrell (Brother), Raymond Terrell (Brother), Dalton Terrell (Brother), Gene Terrell (Brother), Marion Terrell (Brother), and Morrell Terrell (Brother).
She is survived by Maryland (Melanie) Terrell, and Family, Geraldine (Ray) Jarrell, and family, Claire Harris, and family, and Ruth (Larry) Holder, and family. Jerry Terrell (Brother), and family, Children: Donald (Linda Gail) Williams, Betty (Frank) Odom, Connie (Roberto Lugo) Romero, Hilda Fisher, and Elaine Moniz. There are six Grandchildren: Donna, Angela, Antonio (Buford), Robert John, Sabrina, and Frank Jr. II. Many other great-grandchildren, some including: Jordan Adams, Skylar Brown, Gia Romera, Jalynn, Whitney, and Leo, and others. The great-great-great grandchildren missed meeting, and would have enjoyed meeting their Mee Maw. All our Love Forever. Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for each of us.
After a choice with Arlington National Services for Mother's deceased second spouse, Mother's decision against a resting place was not a choice due to the cold weather. She said, "That thought of that final resting place feels cold." A choice of burial in Mom's birthplace, the State of Georgia, was non-optional since she expressed there was coldness in the thought of the red Georgia clay. Our Mother would definitely "Haunt us for the rest of our lives". Our Mother's desire and wish with a final resting place was to be in the State of Florida, with her ashes scattered in the Ocean. Mom was asked about her fear of water since she didn't know how to swim, and she responded, "I will be gone, and my fear of water will no longer matter."
Private Ceremony: Mother (FloEllen Gold) wished for her son, four daughters, and family to get together for a Celebration of her life. This is a special occasion for all of them to celebrate Mother for all of her 90 years of Life. This year, she will not only be in heaven with all those who have died themselves, but she will also finally be with her family for the rest of her eternal life. She is still in the hearts of all those who are living right now, and that is what is needed in life today. Mom, we are all thankful and love you so deeply for all that you have done in our lives.
