Flor Maria Coll Morera Oleinik, 85, of Ocean Township, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.
She was born in San Jose, Costa Rica. She moved to the United States in 1954, living first in Tampa, FL and then NJ in Long Branch, West Long Branch, Wayside and Eatontown before moving to Wanamassa 45 years ago.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church (Mother of Mercy Parish) in Asbury Park. She graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelors of Sociology. Earlier in life, she worked as a live-in nanny, an office cleaner and a coat factory worker. At EAI in Long Branch, she worked on electronics components for NASA space probes and satellites. She was a Monmouth County Probabtion Officer before finally becoming a Social Worker with Monmouth County Division of Social Services. She retired in 2004 and then spent time traveling the world with her husband of 44 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leonid Oleinik; her parents, Rosalia Morera Soto and Joaquin Coll Sabater; and her sister, Virginia Coll Morera.
Surviving are her daughters, Anna Oleinik and Patricia Spurlock and husband Jonathan; 2 grandsons, Coll and Elijah Spurlock; her sister, Maria Elisa Vitola and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the U.S. and in Costa Rica.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2-4 pm Sunday, April 21 at the Fiore-Buckley Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 am Monday April 22 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Asbury Park. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Neptune. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The American Lung Association. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
