Mrs. Flora Mae Wright

Mrs. Flora Mae Wright, 84, of Corbin, passed away Saturday evening, October 7, 2023 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Lester and Ethel Broughton Smith born on November 6, 1938 in Knox County.
Flora was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Corbin, where she sang in the choir for over 20 years. She also enjoyed tending flowers, watching deer, but most loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Josephine Smith, Pauline Gray, Corine Smith and Geraldine Tinsley and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Wright.
Survivors include her loving husband of over 61 years, John N. Wright of Corbin; three children, John T. Wright of Corbin, James T. Wright of London and Lorie Ann Wright and fiancé, Dale Jones, of Corbin; two sisters, Iveline Epperson and husband, Jack, of Road Fork and Wilma Fuson of Trosper; three brothers, J. W. Smith of Bimble, Kenneth Smith of Road Fork and Jimmie Smith and wife, Cathy, of Barbourville; cherished grandchildren, Timothy and wife, Destine, Tosha and husband, Jessie, Travis and wife, Shae, Ashley, Joey and wife, Taylor, Becky and husband, Ronald, and Johnny; great grandchildren, Jasmine, Braeden, Brantley, Keaton, Kendall and Maddie; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, October 13 at 1 P.M. with Pastor Kevin Roach officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Calvary Cemetery at Gray.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Bluegrass Hospice Care for the excellent care given to Flora during her illness.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Friday prior to the funeral hour.
