Obituary - Fairfield Florence M. Allison age 86 of 1103 South Fourth Street in Fairfield, died Tuesday morning, March 5, 2013 at Parkview Care Center, where she had been a resident since 2009. She was born August 22, 1926 in Washington, D.C. the daughter of Greek immigrants Soloman "Sam" and Clara Mardy Angel. Florence graduated from high school in Washington, D.C.. She moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1945 and worked as a secretary at the Davis-Montham Air Base where she met Charles Richard "Dick" Allison of Fairfield. They were married on January 19, 1946 in Fairfield. She was a charter member of the Fairfield Jaycettes, the Fairfield Fire Department Auxiliary, Jefferson County Hospital Auxiliary, worked at the Bargain Box, involved with the women's bowling league, loved going to the casino and card playing. Deceased family members include her husband on May 8, 1986, her parents and a sister Elizabeth "Libby" Bell. Surviving are her 2 daughters: Elizabeth (Beth) Brownlee and husband Walter; and Bonnie Allison, both of Fairfield. 4 grandchildren : Tracy Grinstead Everly and husband Rob, Scott Grinstead and wife Maggie, Kelly Buckner and her husband Mike, and Jamie Guffey and her husband Jason. Great grandchildren: Alex and Madison Everly, Jacob and Allison Grinstead, Lindsay and Zachary Guffey and Lucas Buckner; her brother Leon and his wife Jean Angel of Callao, Virginia, plus several nieces. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with Pastor Keevin Koch officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials may be made the Alzheimer's Association, the American Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
