Graveside services for Mrs. Florence Rachel Arrington, age 95, will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 1 p.m. in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. in the Hunt Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Rachel was born to the late Jesse Allen and Hassie Lou Porter Williams on January 8, 1930, in Trezevant, TN. She was the eleventh child of their fifteen children. She passed away on October 13, 2025, at Milan General Hospital in Milan, TN.
On January 24, 1948, she married James Edward Arrington. She was a dedicated pastor’s wife and served alongside her husband for many years at several churches throughout West Tennessee and Kentucky where they later settled at Pleasant View Church of Christ in Skullbone, TN, preaching fulltime. She owned and operated Happy House Daycare in Milan for several years and she loved caring for children.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Edward Arrington; two sons and her daughter-in-law, Mark Edward Arrington and James Michael Arrington and his wife, Rene Hampton Arrington; and her son-in-law, Johnny Simmons.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane Simmons of Bradford, TN and Kathy (Dewey) McCoy of Barlett, TN; one brother, Joe Williams of Brighton, TN; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Nathan) Walters of Frisco, TX, Denise McCoy of Bartlett, TN, Anna (Jason) Eaton of McKenzie, TN, Tyler (Worthy) Arrington of Bradford, TN, and Jessie (Zac) Keymon of Bradford, TN; and eight great-grandchildren, Kisor Walters, Keller Walters, Lexi Joyce, Walker Arrington, Mattie Arrington, Odis Arrington, Oliver Keymon, and Theo Keymon.
