Florence Elaine Ganter, 78, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Just fifteen days after the passing of her beloved husband, John, has now been reunited with the love of her life. Florence was born in Cloquet on May 4, 1947, to Helen (Lee) and Adolph Johnson. She graduated from Cloquet High School with the Class of 1965 and married John Ganter on January 20, 1973. Florence worked a variety of jobs including the Northwest Paper, CMH, USPS and H&R Block before beginning her career as an inventory supervisor for the Little Stores, where she worked until her retirement in 2007.

Florence lived her life to the fullest. She loved reading, playing cards with "the ladies," and spending Wednesday nights at the Jack with John and their close friends. Florence had a natural gift for connecting with people, and her kindness and warmth were evident to everyone who knew her. Her family was her greatest joy. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren and rarely missed any game, event, or activity they were involved in. During retirement, Florence and John enjoyed traveling the country on bus and train trips, creating lasting memories together.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John; her parents; her sisters Linda (Warren) Blodgett and Joyce Johnson; her brother, Kenny Johnson and his wife, Mary Lou; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Lundberg and Geraldine Nynas; and brothers-in-law, Allen Lundquist, Donald "Goose" Ganter, Martin Nynas, Russell Lundberg, and Rodney Thompson. She is welcomed in her next journey by many other cherished family members and friends.

Florence will be deeply missed by her children, Paul (Tracy) Ganter and Jenna (Marc) Palmer; grandchildren, Alexis, Grady, August, and Isaac Palmer, Callie (Brandon) Bassett, and Brayden Ganter; and great-grandchildren Eilee, Oaklee, and Blayke Bassett. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Lundquist; sisters-in-law Susanne (Ken) Leon, Charlene Thompson, and Karen (Neil) Nemmers; along with many other beloved relatives and friends.

A joint Celebration of Life service for Florence and John will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet.
