Florence Nightingale Gooch, 96, of Decatur passed from this earth Saturday, December 6th, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
Florence was born March 20th, 1929 to Meynell and Florence (Wiggins) Wright in London, England. She was united in marriage December 27th, 1966 to James Gooch. Florence had her Associate’s Degree and was retired from Bell Helicopter after many years as a secretary. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Meynell and Florence Wright; her husband, James Gooch and 2 sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her 4 daughters; 2 sons; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; extended family members and a host of friends.
