Florence C. Hoffstead

Florence C. Hoffstead, age 76, passed away suddenly on January 23, 2023. She was born in Port Huron, MI on September 8, 1946 the daughter of Charles and Vernice (Oliver) James. She attended Kishwaukee College where she obtained her LPN and worked for over 20 years at Autometer in Sycamore. Florence married Gary Hoffstead on November 22, 1974. In her spare time; she loved watching sports and playing bingo at the senior center in Rochelle. But, the most important thing in her life was her family and being a mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Charles, sister Velma Jean Kennedy, and son-in-law David Sexton. She is survived and missed by her children, Tim (Sandy) Hoffstead of Winfield, Kim Sexton of TX, Gary Hoffstead of Stillman Valley, Fred Hoffstead of Beloit, and Wayne (Mi Suk) Hoffstead of Beloit; siblings, Lynn Dicks of Port Gratiot, Sharon (Dwain) Towers of Roseville, and David (LaVonne) James of Winnebago; 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday January 31, 2023 at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt in Stillman Valley. Memorials are established in her name.
