COLONIE - Florence H. Houck, 75, passed Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Albany Medical Center, with her loving family at her side.
She was born February 24, 1950 in Colonie, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Metzger. Florence was the devoted wife of Michael P. Houck Sr., of Colonie. They were married for 55 years.
Florence graduated from Colonie High School, and worked in the South Colonie School District for over 20 years. In her spare time, she loved camping in the Adirondacks, fishing, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and was blessed with many wonderful friends and a loving family.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Houck Sr.; her son, Michael (Melissa) Houck Jr.; her daughter, Heather (Michael) Janczak; her grandchildren Emma Houck, Rylan Janczak, Kaylyn Janczak; her sister, Joan (Walter) Jutkofsky; her nieces, Jennifer (Albi) Jutkofsky-Pine, Katrina Jessop, Alesha (Thomas) Russom; and many cousins, grandnieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Robert and Ruth; she was predeceased by her grandson, Henry Michael.
Visiting hours will be held from 12 to 2 p.m., on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Funeral services are private.
