Florence “Jeanne” Ruoff, 93, passed away September 24, 2024, in Blue Springs, Missouri at Parkway Senior Living Memory Unit.
Jeanne was born on March 1st, 1931, in Bay City, Michigan to Dale and Martelle Shoemaker, both of whom preceded her in death. She attended and graduated from Redford Union Detroit In June 1949. Jeanne attended Graceland College. It was there she met her husband, William W. Ruoff of 55 years who passed away October 13, 2005. Jeanne received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and was a nurse at Lee’s Summit Hospital for 20 years. She was head nurse from 1990-1992 when she retired.
Jeanne was a faithful member in the Church of Jesus Christ South Crysler Restoration Branch and played the organ for many years. She proudly gave her time as a hospice volunteer, both here and in Texas, where she and her husband resided in the winters. Jeanne enjoyed her family and always said, “I have a wonderful family”.
Jeanne is survived by her son, Mark Ruoff (Meloney), a daughter, Jill Ruoff, a son, Tim Ruoff (Cindy), a daughter-in-law, Dee Ruoff, seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Martelle Shoemaker, her son, Steve Ruoff, and her brother, Larry Shoemaker.
We would like to thank Parkway Memory Care in Blue Springs, Missouri and Ascend Hospice in Lee’s Summit for their love and care of our mom.
