Florence A. Scott, nee Johnson, age 98, of Edgerton, passed away on September 17, 2025 at the Edgerton Care Center. She was born on Stone Farm Road, Rock County, on February 18, 1927 to Albert and Mary (Mathison) Johnson.

Florence attended the Edgerton Schools, graduating in 1944. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Deborah Circle.

On December 16, 1963, Florence married James N. Scott in Rockford, IL. She lived most of her life in Edgerton, where she was employed by Highway Trailer and spent 21 years working for the Egerton School System.

Florence looked forward to the annual Johnson Family reunion generally celebrated on the first Sunday of August each year. She felt very fortunate to be able to attend the reunion held this past August and being able to spend time with many nieces, nephews and their extended families. Although Florence did not have any children of her own, she treated her 26 nieces and nephews as her own. She was always interested in all that they were doing and enjoyed keeping tabs on them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim and her eight siblings, brothers: Ralph, Elwood, William and Donald "Bud," along with her sisters: Ruth Lintvedt, Gladys Wileman, Anna Ylvisaker and Esther Anderson. Also, a very special friend, Lester Haakenson. He was a very important part of her life.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 27, at Central Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM. Visitation will take place at 10:00 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Central Lutheran Church of to the 210 Fulton Street Veterans Housing Project. A luncheon will be served after the service in the fellowship hall.
