Aunt Hilda, the strong survivor of five children. Her sisters and brothers passed prior to her leaving this world. She fought so hard to continue her life but the body gave out. We had all hoped for a 100th birthday celebration but she was two years short of that. When I was younger I fantasized that she was my mother. When we were younger will looked alike and sometimes people would think we were sisters. Hilda was a feisty soul, with a take charge attitude. She could cut you down with a tongue that was sharper than a knife and the next minute tell you how much she loved you. She cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would often relate stories about them to me. I pray that she has found peace in heaven with her siblings and that God has put a perpetual smile on her face. I will miss her as she is the last of the Petitt children. No more stories of times gone by and hearing about the family history. Rest in peace my dearest aunt, I love you.
