Florvil Andre

Florvil André was born on July 12, 1930, in La Plate Commune de Bassin-Bleu, Port-de-Paix, Haiti. He was the beloved son of Simon André and Ydora Filis. Florvil lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work. He was a modest farmer who worked tirelessly to provide for his children and instilled in them good values while raising them on the farm. Those who knew him remember his humor, calm spirit, and unwavering commitment to his family and the Catholic Church.

On March 11, 1963, Florvil married Novina Ticharite, and together they shared a beautiful bond. Throughout his life, Florvil was blessed with 17 children with three mothers. Unfortunately, only seven of them remain with us today. His surviving children are Inofrance Simon André, Pautte André, Rosenie André, Lucia André, Yzianie André, Auvilus André, and Rosena André.

He also has eight grandchildren in the United States, all of whom are named as follows: Shinaidine Tatoute, Berry Gue, Marcus André, Erica André, Amber André, Audra André, Almar André, and Naika Telson.

There will be a visitation held at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4-8pm. The funeral mass will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 9:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church located at 148 Hamilton Avenue White Plains, NY 10601. After the service, Florvil André will be buried at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York. The reception will be held at the Memorial United Methodist Church, located at 250 Bryant Avenue, White Plains, NY 10605.
