Floyd Farbent 83, of New Windsor, NY passed away on October 28th, 2022. Floyd was born January 5th, 1939 in NYC To Mary and Flory Farbent.
He is survived by his Wife, who he adored, Margaret Farbent (Reilly), his sister Joyce Skroban, and his four children, Michael, Stephen, Eric and Tara. He has 6 grandchildren, Michael, Nicole, Samantha Monahan, Lindsay, Lauren, and Luke and Floyd has 2 great grandchildren, Owen and Briar.
After high school he joined the Navy for four years in a pursuit to protect his country. He later received a vocational degree with a machine shop and soon began his lifelong career with Verizon for the telephone company. He was the president of the PTA at St Ann's School on Bainbridge Ave in the Bronx, and was also a boy scout leader in the Bronx. Floyd was a member of Knights of Columbus, was a volunteer delivering Meals on Wheels for years, and was a Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Parish, the church he attended since we moved here from the Bronx in 1983.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, November 1 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, November 2 at the funeral home, with burial following in Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor.
