Floyd Michael Jensen, 65, passed away on Sunday June 29th, 2025 surrounded by his family and in the comfort of his home after a courageous and heroic battle with a GIST tumor. Floyd was born on January 30th, 1960 to James Jr. and Carol (Trantanella) Jensen in St. Paul, Minnesota. He graduated from Murray High School in 1978 and later attended the University of Minnesota. Floyd had a passion for construction and worked his entire life in the construction industry. He got his start as a roofing expert at Single Ply Systems and later a career at Nor-Son Construction in project management and sales. During Floyd's years of "semi-retirement" he worked as an insurance adjuster at Twin City Public Adjusting and enjoyed raising black labs that he used to guide pheasant hunters in Minnesota and South Dakota. Floyd loved the great outdoors - hunting, fishing, and watching the wildlife on the farm that he loved dearly and shared with his family. Floyd married the love of his life, Debra Jelencich, on June 7th, 1997. Together they built a life full of adventures, laughter, and incredible love. Floyd is survived by his wife of 28 years, Debra, their daughter Kelsey (Sam Klinger), his daughters Rosie and Michelle, grandsons Branden and Colten, brothers John (Beth) and Frank (Stephanie), several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends that he considered his family. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James III, and his sister Janine. Floyd was a strong, humble, and kind man who took great pride in his family and cared for them well. His life was well lived with not a moment wasted. To know Floyd was to love him, and he will be greatly missed by all.
The celebration of Floyd's life will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at Lakewood Evangelical Free Church in Baxter. The visitation will begin at 10 with the service at 11 and lunch to follow.
