Mr. Floyd William Kirby

Mr. Kirby was born on April 13, 1920 and passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Mr. Kirby was a resident of Virginia at the time of passing. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force during World War II, who flew 35 combat missions as a B-17 bombardier in the European Theater and was decorated with the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross. The family will receive friends at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Ave., Clarksville, VA 23927 at 12:30 PM on Friday, December 21, 2018 followed by a 2:00 p.m. graveside service in Oakhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The New Community School, 4211 Hermitage Road, Richmond, VA 23227, or the Mecklenburg County Life Saving & Rescue Squad P.O. Box 1539, Clarksville, VA 23927.
