Floyd Luther Meadows age 76 of Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at his home. 


He was born May 11, 1947 in McCreary County, Kentucky to the late Everett Meadows and Lilly (Lay) Meadows. 


In addition to his parents, Floyd is preceded in death by his brothers, Curtis and Joe Meadows; and sisters, Loretta Faustino, Lucille Stephens, and Nola Cottrell. 


Surviving family includes his wife of 58 years, Betty (Rogers) Meadows; sons, Floyd Jr. (and Cindy) and Larry Keith Meadows all of Strunk, Kentucky; daughters, Lilly Meadows of Strunk, Shawna Gonzalez (and Sonny) of Bowdon, Georgia, and Lisa Daugherty (and Wendell) of Winfield, Tennessee; and sisters, Beverly Wilson of Stearns, Nancy Meadows of Strunk, and Doris Gaertner of Strunk. 


Floyd is also survived by his grandchildren, Brandon, Amber, Raven, Justin (and Xstina), Christina, Miguel, Breana, Emily, Jason (and Casey), Kayla (and Emmanuel), Brandy (and Josh), and Brian (and Danielle); and 22 great-grandchildren. 


Floyd retired from construction and dry wall trade. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, yard work, gardening, and caring for his birds. Floyd could grow anything in his garden, even convincing the grand babies he grew their chicken noodle soup there. He also enjoyed shooting pool and going to flea markets. He will be sadly missed. 


Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Upper Cal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday after 11:00 am until service time.
