Floyd E. Parker, 95, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2024, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 7, 1928, to Blue and Minnie Parker. He was a proud resident of Leesburg, MS and a faithful member of Leesburg Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. He loved Jesus, and this was evident to all who knew him. His two daughters, four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He enjoyed working in his garden and spent many hours growing vegetables to share with his family and friends. He loved supporting his grandchildren in sports and was so happy to be able to see his great-grandson, Bryson, play his last home football game of his senior year this past October. He also loved listening to gospel music and traveling with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Blue and Minnie Parker; his loving wife of 65 years, Lillie Ruth Parker; his brother, James Parker; his sisters, Agnes McKinley and Evelyn Risher; his son-in-law, Raymond Tardo; and his great-granddaughter, Alaynah Rose Owen.
He is survived by his daughters, Pam Banes (Alton) and Sandra Owen Tardo; his grandchildren, Kim Loe Bennett (Gray), Philip Owen (Kathryn), Leslie Banes Pope (Jason), and Morgan Banes Traxler (Eric); his great-grandchildren, Emily Loe, Bryson Loe, Livvy Owen, Wynn Pope, Hayden Pope, Lily Traxler, and Spencer Traxler; siblings, Jessie Ray Parker (Linda Merle), Percy Parker (Mallie) and Barbara Ann Carpenter and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Philip Owen, Bryson Loe, Jason Pope, Eric Traxler, Gray Bennett, Tony Parker, and Ricky Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Will Parker, Wynn Pope, Hayden Pope, and Spencer Traxler.
