Fonda Lee Harrison McKinney, 72, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Liberty Commons surrounded by her family. She was born on June 19, 1952 in Rockingham County to the late Everette Lee Harrison and Annie Hughes Harrison. Fonda was the wife of 35 years to the late Charles Roger McKinney who died in 2014.

 She retired from Modern Chevrolet in 2020 after 45 years total with Alamance Motors, Dick Shirley and Modern Chevrolet. Fonda enjoyed shopping, cooking, trips to the beach, spending time at Hyco Lake with family and friends boat riding and having fun. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

 Fonda is survived by her two sons, Brandon Lee Roney and wife Lori and Joseph Brent McKinney; grandchildren, Zeke Roney and Hannah Roney; a sister, Pattie H. Mansfield; nieces and nephews, Julie Litten and husband Rusty, Chris Mansfield and wife Tina, Ashley Faucette and husband Steven, Billy “Bill” Phillips, Jr. and wife Hope; great nieces and nephews, Nathan Phillips, Nicholas Phillips, Mason Faucette, Logan Litten, Natalie Kimrey and husband Trey, Jessie Nelson and husband Justin; great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother, Billy Phillips, Sr.

 The funeral service to celebrate the life of Fonda will be held at 2:00pm Monday, July 1, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Clarence Toney with the burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:45pm Monday prior to the service.
