Forest Hawkins

A Chaplin resident, Mr. Forest Hawkins, age 90, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Landmark of Bardstown. He was born August 25, 1933 in Anderson County to the late Dorotha Daniel and Thelma Colvin Hawkins. Forest was a retired Electrician and owned Hawkins Electric. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and member of Chaplin Methodist Church. Forest enjoyed talking on the CB radio in the past, liked good food, and loved his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Louise Joan "Betty" Hawkins, a son, William Avery Hawkins, and a granddaughter, Kimberly Kaye Hawkins.
He is survived by his son, Wayne (Sandy) Hawkins of Chaplin, his daughter, Wynnette Hawkins of Chaplin and 2 sisters, Margie Muncy of Louisville, and Ilene Crouch of Bloomfield.
Funeral services for Mr. Forest Hawkins will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Bro. Leland Parks will officiate. Interment will be in Highview Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 am until time of the funeral service. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Bloomfield Masonic Lodge #57F&AM. The Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
