Forest Teer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lampe & Powers Funeral Home - Lake City on Apr. 18, 2023.
Forest L. Teer, age 60, of Gilmore City, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Forest Lee Teer was born on July 7, 1962, to Carol Ann (Byous) and Fred Teer, near Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up in Torrance, California and Kearney, Arizona. He graduated from high school in Kearney and then spent two years working on a cattle ranch in Oregon. After various jobs through the years, he worked as a steel worker in Granbury, Texas. On August 18, 2019, Forest married Virginia "Ginny" (Moore) Ferguson at the Granbury Church of God. After several years of fighting cancer, he won the battle on Saturday, April 15, 2023, when God called him home. He spent his last days at the Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Forest was known as "Mr. Fix It" and able to repair most items that needed attention. He loved the outdoors and never spent enough time fishing. Not only did he love fishing, but he loved the Lord with all his heart. We will miss him and celebrate his life and know he is now fishing in heaven.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; a step-son, Jason Ferguson; and step-grandchildren, Brandon Taylor and Kylee Rees; his Aunt Jean Chanceler of Quitman, Texas; cousin, Debra Andrew of Rowlett, Texas; step-daughters, Michelle Dionne of Wichita Falls, Texas and Misti Nunez of Purdin, Missouri and step-grandchildren, Tia Chapman and Tyler Lofton of Brookfield, Missouri and numerous extended family members.
Forest was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bruce Teer; sister, Susan Popard; uncle, Tom Chancelor and cousin, Daryn Chancelor, and first wife, Peggy.
