Sorry Mr.ACKERMAN for not knowing who you were. Im a great fan of the "SI-FI" genre, and love the old horror film's and all si-fi movie's! Please im so honered knowing now, who you are if it wasn't for HEULL-HOWSER (rip) 1/2 hr. show's on kcet, i probably would have not seen the episode of you and your collection of "WOW" Memorabilia and that you are the greatest man of si-fi and horror! You are a legend and inspiring mind for us all! May you rest in piece and prosper in HEAVEN cause GOD need's you now!

You will be missed Mr Ackerman you were a god of Sci-Fi. But I do have to ask. I do wish I knew why you wanted and did vote for Obama? Rest in peace my friend. Robert Callis

Forry Ackerman was the world's greatest sci-fi fan. I subscribed to "Famous Monsters of Filmland" magazine during the seventies. I enjoyed reading all of them. May you take comfort in the presence of God. Your legacy will live on forever.

The 5th anniversary of your death is approaching this Dec. I just wanted to thank you for my childhood. Fore if it wasnt for your brilliant foresight into this genre we call SCI- FI. I may have not ended up where i am today. I will not go into detail with my successes, only because they are very well known , and this isnt about me. I will only say Thank You and cherish all that you had done to make my lie , and the live's of countless others better......

Forry Ackerman is the man who is responsible for my love of horror movies. When I grew up in the sixties FM (Famous Monsters)was there to capture my imaginaton and to give me an insight as to what it took to make these film nightmares that I so cherished. When other kids were reading comic books and tying towels around their necks and dreaming of flying, I was a lonely hunchback in the bell towers of Notre Dame, or helpng Dr. Frankenstein to once again revive(Universal style)the monster.
He also made me a fan of Karloff,Lugosi,Chaney Sr.&Jr.and many more.I also understand he was a great collector of articles from those films. Sir, I salute you and thank you for a wonderfl childhood. Daniel Martin

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Forry Ackerman is one those larger-than-life figures in popular culture - in science fiction - who seems to have been around forever, and therefore seems like he will continue to be around for all time. I grew up looking at him as if he were a distant uncle or something. I can only speak for myself, but this is one of those times when a sinking feeling hits you and you realize that, truly, All Good Things pass... all of them. There are no exceptions. Ah, the good old days... of the seventies, and even the eighties, when things seemed a bit more brightly lit - thanks to guys like 4E and his Ackermansion. Or, I would go back even further, to the sixties, and check out an old goofy sci-fi pic such as The Time Travelers, where-in there sat Forry, creating squares out of circles or something like that. He'll be around forever due to instances such as those.
