A solid actor. He was great no matter what role he portrayed. I'll miss seeing him.

Forrest was introduced to me by his aunt and uncle, Victor and Emily Hunsicker. They adored him and apparently he had a similar personality to Emily. I was a young seventh grader who had just finished my first musical. A fan of Gomer Pyle, it totally took me by surprise when they invited me across the street to meet their “nephew”. He was kind and gracious. The world needs more people like Forrest Compton. Condolences to all friends and family.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family for the loss of your loved one, who will be remembered for his contribution to the film industry and for his tenure as an actor. May you find comfort and strength in God during this time of sorrow.

My sister said she thought he was the most handsome man on television as Colonel Grey on Gomer Pyle.

I loved him especially in Gomer Pyle. RIP

Mr. Compton brought so much joy to millions of people with his pleasant disposition and wonderful acting skills. So sad to hear of his passing, but he will not be forgotten by his family, friends or fans.
