Forrest Lee Pate Jr.

Forrest Lee Pate Jr., 70, of Owensboro died Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at his home. He was born Dec. 2, 1943, in Daviess County to the late Lela and Forrest Lee Pate Sr. He had been employed by Bradco Construction and May Bros. Construction. He loved working on cars, hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Pate; a daughter, Lori Barnett; and a son, Doyle Lee Pate. He is survived by his fiancée, Verinda Ritchie; a daughter, Vickie Pate of Owensboro; stepchildren Debra Humphrey of Mount Washington, and Delena (Tony) Carpenter, John Ritchie, Mark Ritchie and Vanessa (Charlie) Corbett, all of Louisville; grandchildren Jeremy Lee (Mandy) Pate, Todd Martin and Tabitha (David) Wilson, all of Owensboro, and Maricca Glaab, William Green, Derrick Poppe, Rebecka Ritchie, Amber Ritchie and Aaron Ritchie, all of Louisville; great-grandchildren Sydney Pate, Ciara Pate, Alex Wilhite, Tru Wilhite and Kaylee Wilson, all of Owensboro, and Haley and Lelan Glaab, both of Louisville; a sister, Frances Faught and a half sister, Tammy Barnett, both of Owensboro. Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial is in Scherer Cemetery in Stanley. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
