Fran Laureano Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Abbey Cremation Service - Rocky Hill on Mar. 13, 2026.
Fran Laureano, 69, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, at Manchester Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Fran was born on June 7, 1956, and raised in Hartford, Connecticut, where she lived for many years and built deep roots in her community.

For 38 years, Fran was a dedicated employee of Connecticut Foodshare, where she poured her heart into ensuring that no one in her community went hungry. Her passion for helping others was evident in everything she did, especially through her involvement in the annual Walk Against Hunger. Fran proudly led "Fran's Team," inspiring others and raising funds to support a cause close to her heart.

Fran was a bright light to all who knew her-kind, generous, and always ready to lend a helping hand. She lived life to the fullest and cherished traveling, especially cruises and beach vacations shared with the love of her life, Danny. When she wasn't traveling, Fran could often be found relaxing by the pool, enjoying time at the casino, or playing a lively game of Yahtzee.

Fran leaves behind her beloved husband, Dan Welch; her daughter, Betsy Laureano; and her cherished grandchildren, Joey Aparicio, Luiz Torres, Anthony Torres, Michael Laureano, Jayson Laureano, Marcus Ortiz, and Jocelyn Ortiz.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Paul Welch, and his wife, Tammy Coons; her nephew, Ed Laureano, and his wife, Sandra Laureano; and their children, Alex Laureano, Janessa Laureano, Elmer Serrano, and Elisa Laureano as well as Fran's nephews Gabriel Rodriguez and Christopher Rodriguez.

Fran was predeceased by her children Joey Aparicio, David Laureano, and Debbie Laureano, as well as her sister-in-law and best friend, Peggy Laureano.

Fran's warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and community will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
