Frances "Carol" (nee Coleman) Adkins, best known as Carol, was born on March 13, 1939, and passed away on February 20, 2026.
Carol was many things in her lifetime — a daughter, sister, wife, and mother — but her most cherished title was Mamaw.
She was the beloved daughter of Hastie and Elmer Coleman. She was one of many siblings: Irene, Orville, Dimple, Barbera, Dixie, Dan, Freda, Bonnie, Berdie, Grady, Brenda, Beatrice, Goble, Burma, and Rachel, along with their loving spouses.
Carol was the devoted wife of Elster, with whom she shared 54 happy years of marriage. She was a loving mother to Richie and Kent (Terry).
She was Mamaw to Rich, Dave, Kristie (Gerald), Holli (Eric), Don, Ray, Will, and Sue.
She was Great-Mamaw to Drew (Faith), Madi, Evan, Teryn, Nevaeh, Mackenzie, Megan, Lexi, Gabe, and Ryan.
She was Great-Great-Mamaw to baby Willow.
Carol retired from Wright Tool and became a full-time caregiver to her husband. She was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church and attended True Vine Baptist Church whenever she was able. Her faith was deeply important to her and guided her life.
She loved baking and decorating cakes, crafting, and spending time with her dogs — whom she affectionately called “Mamaw’s babies.” Above all, her greatest love was her family.
Though we will miss her deeply, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited in Heaven with her parents, her siblings, her beloved husband Elster, her son Richie, and so many other loved ones.
Her legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on through her family for generations to come.
