Frances Antonelli Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 12, 2025.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce that heaven has a new angel. On December 6, 2025, Frances Corrozi Antonelli passed away after a short illness. Frances was a true Renaissance woman; versatile and well rounded, with diverse talents ranging from intellectual curiosity to the ability to adapt to any situation, and a truly amazing creative spirit.
Frances started working at the age of 14 in her Aunt Catherine's Restaurant as a waitress. Frances had to go to work to help support her family. She had to quit school, which bothered her. At the age of 40, she went back to school and received her high school diploma.
Frances also worked as her husband's secretary in their tile business, and in the auditing department at Sears. In between all these jobs, she took care of her elderly parents, Joseph and Cecelia (Aceto) Corrozi, along with her daughter Janet's help. Frances was a published poetess; in 1998, she was featured in the book entitled, "A Starlit Night, the National History of Poetry", with the poem entitled "My Angel".
Frances had a loving and long marriage of 72 years to her dear husband, Peter J. Antonelli who passed in 2023 at the age of 95. Peter and Frances are now reunited and what a joyful reunion it must be.
Frances was a loving mother to her beloved and devoted daughter, Janet M. Merendino; son-in-law, Russell Merendino; and only grandchild, Michael Peter Merendino.
The family would like to thank Rita Rizzo, Sherri Farren, and Andrew Coleman for the love and care that they gave Frances in her final years. Special thanks to our dear cousins, Francine Filliben and Danielle DiFonzo for the joy, love, laughter, and support that they gave to Frances, Janet, and Russ. You both are loved and cherished dearly.
Funeral services will be held privately per Frances' request.
