Frances Harrold Burchfield, age 87 of Young Harris, Georgia (formerly of Greensboro, NC) passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2026. Frances was born January 11, 1939 to the late James "Alvin" and Mattie "Ethel" (Hayes) Harrold in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Frances was a devout Christian lady who loved to help people. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Anthony Zane Bumgardner, William Todd Bumgardner, Jeffrey Mitchell Bumgardner; brothers, Robert Harrold, Lawrence Harrold, B.T. Harrold, Bueford Harrold; sisters, Mary Grace Black, Walsie Lockamy.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Ivy) Smith; grandchildren, Jennifer Bumgardner, Peyton Smith, Ashton (Seth) Bailey; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Calvin, Caleb, Ryland, Sophia, Rosalie, Atlas, Noa; extended family Cindy Edwards, several nieces and nephews and friends.
No services are planned at this time.
