Frances Gibbs Caldwell passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. She was born May 14, 1935, in Pacolet, South Carolina, to the late Carl and Marie Bright Gibbs.
Mrs. Caldwell was the devoted wife of Ronald H. Caldwell for 51 years prior to his passing in 2014. She attended Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member of the Homemakers Class. Frances retired from Security Finance Corporation of Spartanburg and Mary Black Physician Group. She also gave generously of her time as a volunteer with Mobile Meals of Spartanburg and the RSVP Program of the United Way.
She is survived by her son, Michael Caldwell and wife Kelli of Pendleton, SC; her daughter, Anna Marie Peacock and husband Todd of Lyman, SC; and the joys of her life her grandchildren: Colton Peacock (Alexa), Dawson Peacock, and Samantha Peacock; great granddaughters: Avery Anne Peacock and Rylee Frances Peacock. She is also survived by her brother, Harold Gibbs of Sevierville, TN; her sister, Joyce McDowell of Fairforest, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Hatchette, and a brother, Clarence Gibbs.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Floyd’s Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 Highway 9, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. A graveside service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, officiate by Rev. Ronnie Cox.
