With her family nearby, Mrs. Frances Hesson, a homemaker of the Russell Hill Community, quietly entered into her heavenly reward to join her husband of over fifty-five years and her parents while resting in her recliner at the age of 77 at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning December 30, 2025 following a period of declining health. She was pronounced deceased by Highpoint Hospice at 7:27 a.m.
Eld. Michael Nesbitt and Eld. Junior Dickerson will officiate at the 11 a.m. Saturday morning funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow beside her husband, Vernon, in the Patterson Family Cemetery on Hesson Ridge Lane in the Russell Hill Community. Eld. Kenny Hensley officiated at the graveside service.
A pre-funeral service tribute by the Tennessee Nurse Honor Guard was conducted to honor the life of Mrs. Hesson's contributions to the health care field as a licensed practical nurse.
The Hesson family will receive friends at Sanderson in Carthage on Friday January 2nd from 2 pm. Until 7 p.m. and again on Saturday January 3rd from 9 a.m. until the services at 11 a.m.
One of five children, four sons and a daughter of the late U. S. Army World War II veteran, Samuel Franklin McPeak who died October 18, 2007 at the age of 80 and Margaret Lou Demonbreun McPeak who died November 22, 2013 at the age of 89, she was born Frances Jean McPeak April 16, 1948 and was reared in the Norene Community of Wilson County.
She was a recipient of her General Education Degree and was a Tennessee Licensed Practical Nurse having been employed at the former Smith County Hospital and in Doctor's office.
She met the love of her life, Jessie Vernon Hesson in Watertown while he was employed in the construction of the Watertown High School and while he was an employee of the former Moss Service and Supply Co. in Carthage. They were united in marriage at the Wilson County Courthouse on February 15, 1964.
Frances was a fun-loving person, never met a stranger and a lady who had an outgoing personality and was easily and quick to make friends with.
She cherished her husband and the five children and their spouses and was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was saved and was baptized into the full fellowship of the Sycamore Valley Missionary Baptist Church in the Sycamore Valley Community after she and Vernon married.
Surviving is her five children, Jessie Hesson Jr. and wife Trina, Ann Maree Hesson Bane and husband Johnny Bane Jr. all of the Russell Hill Community, Jeanne Hesson Bell and husband Michael of the Oak Grove Community, Jim Hesson and wife Desiree of Cookeville and Jay Hesson and wife Heather of Pleasant Shade; seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The Hesson family has requested memorials to either the Patterson Cemetery Mowing Fund or the Shriners Children's Hospital.
