Frances Pannell Leiter, 99, of Bridgeboro, died Thursday, August 28, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at First Baptist Church Doerun, with Reverend Dr. David Benton officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Church Cemetery. Darren Hembree, Jordan Hembree, Ryan Hembree, Hayden Hembree, Landon Hembree, and Mark Pannell will all serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at First Baptist Church Doerun.
Born as the oldest of eleven children, Frances was born on October 15, 1925, in Sylacauga, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Johnnie Newton Pannell and Beulah Mae Justice Pannell. A dedicated homemaker, Frances enjoyed creating a warm and welcoming home. She had a passion for crafting and spent countless hours making beautiful things that brought joy to others. Her creativity and love for handiwork will always be remembered by those who were blessed to receive her creations.
Frances adored her children, a beloved son and daughter, but her greatest joy came from being “Gran Gran.” She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren beyond measure, and her life was filled with their laughter, love, and memories. She was of the Christian faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Leiter; brothers, William Pannell, Gordon Pannell, Charles Pannell, Winston Pannell, Lavon Pannell, and Roger Pannell; and sister, Mildred Christie.
Mrs. Leiter is survived by her children, John Leiter, Jr. of Bridgeboro and Donna L. Hembree and husband Jimmy of Doerun; grandchildren, Darren Hembree and wife Wendy, Jordan Hembree and wife Kori, and Ryan Hembree and wife Lauren, all of Doerun; great grandchildren, Hayden Hembree, Landon Hembree, Hadley Hembree, Hayzlie Hembree, Rhett Hembree, Livi Grace Hembree, and Jake Hembree; brother, Mark Pannell and wife Becky of Lee County; sisters, Cookie Kirksey of Dougherty County and Jo Carole Lewis and husband Carl of Villa Rica; and several nieces and nephews.
