I will always remember mom in the kitchen cooking for her huge family and always lovingly making room for me. Don´t get me wrong, she was genuinely spicy in humor, but coming from a family of 3 girls I was amazed that she could cook for this army of a family and maintain some semblance of sanity. I just liked to sit there and watch her as she cooked, chided and joked all at the same time. I tried to help a few times but always got in the way so I would settle in and just enjoy the show. She always showed a genuine interest in me and I especially enjoyed when she would yell at one of the kids and then turn to me and treat me like I was her favorite. Yeah, those were the best times!

My first memory of Frances is her beautiful and contagious smile. She will be greatly missed at Lafayette. May her memories that she shared over the years with her family brought them lasting peace.
