Frances J. "Henger" Muraca

Frances J. Muraca, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 85.

She was the beloved and devoted wife of 44 years of the late Carmen A. Muraca; loving mother of Deborah (Thomas) Gourash, Mark (Suzanne) Muraca, Richard (Jodi) Muraca, and Amy (Bruce) Johnson; treasured "Nunny" of Christopher (Jessica) Gourash, Eric (Sondra) Gourash, Amanda (Scott) Kenders, Erika (Jason) Zebrek, Jessica (Daniel) Critchfield, Dominic Muraca, Gregor (Abigail) Johnson, Cyd (Kate) Johnson, Mia Murraca, and Giuliana Muraca; great-grandmother of 13; daughter of the late Wesley J. and Frances M. (Zirngibl) Henger; sister of Janet Murphy and the late Joseph Henger; also survived by generations of nieces and nephews.

Frances was a devoted wife, mother, friend, neighbor, and woman of deep faith. She was a dedicated election poll worker and an active member of Holy Angels Church of the Blessed Trinity Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and belonged to the Ladies Guild, and Women's and Funeral Ministries.

Known for her kindness, Frances never had an unkind word to say about anyone - she had a remarkable ability to forgive and forget, choosing always to find the good in people. Even as she faced the challenges of losing her memory later in life, she maintained the happy, loving spirit that made her such a joy to be around.

She loved spending time with family, especially during the holidays. She made countless Christmas cookies, often recruiting help so she could make even more. Frances also loved chocolate, good food, and playing with children. She will always be remembered for her warmth, generosity, faith, and the love she shared with everyone around her.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, March 16, 9-10 AM, at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM, at Holy Angels Church of the Blessed Trinity Parish, Hays. She will join her husband, Carmen, at the St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery, Munhall.
