Mary Frances "Granny" Segars, 90, of Royston, GA, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on August 11, 2025. Born on June 30, 1935, to William Aaron and Bertie Lee Smith, Granny's life was a beautiful testament to love, kindness, faith, and resilience. To know Frances was to be blessed by her warm smile, gentle wisdom, and open heart. She had a way of making everyone feel like family, always ready with a hug, an encouraging word, or a helping hand. She lived by her favorite reminder, "Love Always Love," and she shared that love generously with all who crossed her path. Frances, also known to some as "Lady Sky Hawk" was a true survivor. She faced life's trials, including breast cancer and the deep loss of her beloved soulmate, Charles Segars, with steadfast faith and unshakable grace. Her strength came from her relationship with the Lord, and she was a devoted member of Gordon Church serving faithfully on the deacon board for many years. Her church family was as dear to her as her own. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Evelyn Martin, and Ruth Barnes; her brother, William Smith, Jr., and her son-in-law, Robert Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Smith; son, Ray (Cherri) Segars, and sister, Betty Dodd. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Mark (Donna), Elizabeth (James), Megan (Shane), and Dustin (Courtney); and her great-grandchildren, Riane, Dakota, Kerrigan McCall, and Austin Smith, each a precious piece of her heart. Granny's house was always a place of comfort, laughter, and acceptance. She was a guiding light and a seamstress thread to her family's lives, an unwavering friend, and a living example of grace under pressure. Her presence on Earth will be greatly missed, but her spirit, her lessons, and her love will continue to shape the lives she touched. Though she has gone to her heavenly home, Granny's voice will still be heard in quiet moments, reminding us to love without limits, hold tight to our faith, and to cherish every blessing we are given. Funeral services for Mrs. Segars will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18, 2025, in the Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Crowe and Rev. John Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordon Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. until funeral hour on Monday afternoon. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes. Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, GA is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Segars,
You exemplified your kindness by how you treated every soul you met. Even though your days were spent with our Hartwell Health and Rehabilitation family, your warmth, laughter, and love reached far beyond the facility walls. You were surrounded by people who respected, loved, and cherished you. We will miss you dearly. Love you always.
